Aging and People with Disabilities (APD) part of the Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking 2 dedicated and compassionate individuals for Adult Protective Service Investigators in one of our Clackamas County offices.
After a successful initial training period of 6 (six) months at the Oregon City office these individuals may work out of any of the 6 (six) ODHS offices in Clackamas County: Canby Estacada Milwaukie North Clackamas 82nd Ave) Beavercreek Road or Oregon City.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
As an Adult Protective Service Specialist
This position receives screens and investigates cand creates written reports concerning abuse neglect and exploitation committed against older adults and adults with physical disabilities. Investigations occur in communitybased long term care facilities and the community at large. Investigators will also provide plans of safety and prevention to mitigate current and/or future incidents of abuse neglect or exploitation. Investigators make referrals and/or work with community partners as components of Adult Protective Services.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelors Degree in the human social behavioral or criminal sciences and two years human service law enforcement or investigative experience;
OR
An Associates Degree in the human social behavioral or criminal sciences and four years human service law enforcement or investigative experience.
Three years professional level experience related to the position may substitute for the Bachelors degree; 18 months for an Associates.
ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:
We are looking for candidates who have:
Investigation Skills that include experience with investigating situations such as abuse neglect or crimes to gather important facts.
Experience interviewing and communicating with clients or members of the public who have challenges accepting or accessing assistance.
Experience in community healthcare or facility based long term care settings.
Experience staying organized in a fastpaced environment while meeting competing deadlines.
Experience with navigating multiple MS windowsbased software applications including Microsoft Office and inputting data into those systems.
Experience with written documentation and an ability to write detailed analytical concise investigative reports that involves information from multiple witnesses documents/records and observations.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to drive and meet with individuals in their homes community settings community based long term care facilities or other care settings. Exposure to respiratory and bloodborne pathogens is possible. Involves exposure to vicarious trauma hostile and uncooperative individuals along with unsanitary environments. You will be dealing directly with victims and perpetrators of abuse neglect and exploitation. A valid drivers license is required and acceptable driving record.

The Oregon Department of Human Services does not offer visa sponsorship.
