The Senior System Architecture Engineer is responsible for developing and evolving technical network and service architectures as well as designing strategies to maintain enhance and advance TMobiles technology portfolio. Key responsibilities include creating adapting or revising detailed schematics for network and service architecture selecting hardware and software and defining implementation techniques and processes.

Contributes to TMobile success by delivering and implementing large or complex new systems projects processes and/or programs by collaborating with crossfunctional business and technology development teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.

The role may involve performing evaluating or interpreting network simulations test results or studies on innovative technologies. Strong technical documentation and presentation skills are critical for translating sophisticated concepts into understandable terms for diverse audiences. The engineer will also influence and contribute to industry forums.

This position involves moderately complex technical assignments requiring sound judgment in resolving issues and making recommendations. Assignments demand significant initiative and consideration of broader implications with the expectation to propose wellinformed solutions. While general guidance is provided for new tasks minimal direction is needed for daily responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understands system protocols how systems operate and data flows.
  • Aware of current technology benefits and independent study is expected.
  • Expected to lead and deliver complex network and service architecture design strategies and standards.
  • Deep understanding of the building blocks interactions dependencies and tools required to complete design work.
  • Ability to translate complex technical issues in terms of business impact and business benefits.
  • Drives engineering projects by active contribution to the application of engineering techniques; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations.
  • Develops procedures and processes to validate and enhance and optimize network architecture.
  • Creates appropriate validation tests and inspection techniques and effectively documents results.
  • Able to prepare executive summaries of activities and clearly communicate areas of opportunity.
  • Contributes to designs to implement new ideas which improve an existing and new system/process/service.
  • Understands and can apply new industry perspectives to our existing business model.
  • Review existing architecture design strategies standards and processes to highlight more efficient ways to complete existing workload more effectively through industry perspectives.
  • Seeks opportunities to improve designs processes or product by reducing cost improving efficiency or quality.
  • Proactively contributes during brainstorming sessions.
  • Drives investigations leading to new technology concepts that may tackle business problems.
  • Technical Writing: Maintains knowledge of existing technology documents.
  • Contributes clear documentation on multiple systems and services used.
  • Able to document systems architecture design strategies standards business requirements and technical interpretation.
  • Develops and provides technical data for incorporation into internal presentations that may translate technical issues into business impact.
  • Collaborates with technical teams and utilizes system expertise to deliver technical solutions.
  • Continuously learns and instructs others on existing and new technologies.
  • Attend and/or host management and project team meetings as required keeping the project team informed and progressing including project reviews with stakeholders as necessary to perform ongoing assessments on the progress of projects
  • Influence technology and policy decisions made across the appropriate functional organization around architecture design strategies and standards.
  • Drives lab and field trial activities in support of Proof of Concept.
  • Contributes to new and existing technology options that support business goals.
  • Evaluates technologies and proposes technology position for the company within own VP organization.

Education and Work Experience:

  • 5 Years Technical engineering experience (Required)
  • Experience with RedHat Linux
  • Ansible and Puppet
  • Experience in Data Center infrastructure design and installation
  • Experience in Network design and protocols
  • Experience with technically complex Project Management
  • Experience in development and deployment of internal/infrastructure network technology
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering Computer Science or related field of study (Required)

Base Pay Range: $100100 $180600

Corporate Bonus Target: 15

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidates actual pay will be based on various factors such as work location qualifications and experience so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At TMobile employees in regular nontemporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a yearend bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employees eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
