Job Description

TITLE:Faculty Manager REVISED 5/10/12

Westlake Middle School APPROVED 6/28/12

  1. Teaching certificate.
  2. CPR training preferred.
  3. Knowledge of sports safety.
  4. Experience as player or coach.
  5. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO:Building Principal and Director of Athletics and Student Programs

JOB GOALS:In concert with the Building Principal and the Director of Athletics and Student Programs the Faculty Manager supervises coordinates and promotes all phases of the interscholastic athletic program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in setting up contracts for athletic events with other schools.
  2. Represent the school at athletic events and meetings in the absence of the Director of Athletics and Student Programs.
  1. Assist the Director of Athletics and Student Programs in the development of athletic schedules.
  2. Assist in communicating with game officials.
  3. Assist in the selection placing and paying all personnel needed to conduct home contest.
  4. Cooperate with the booster organization.
  5. Aid the Director of Athletics and Student Programs in administering an efficient running athletic program.
  6. Implement Board policies including the policies for fundraising season calendar discipline and booster groups.
  7. Familiarize oneself with current School District District 10 and PIAA policies regarding athletics.
  8. Any other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his designee.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Ability to sit and talk and hear.
  2. Ability to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl and move quickly when necessary to promote student learning and/or safety.
  3. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Over 25 pounds requires assistance. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

SENSORY ABILITY:

  1. Ability to speak clearly and distinctly.
  2. Auditory acuity to be able to use telephone.
  3. Visual acuity to read correspondence and computer screen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  1. Indoor and outdoor environments.

TEMPERAMENT:

  1. Ability to work as a member of a team.
  2. Must be courteous.
  3. Must be cooperative congenial service oriented and promote these qualities in the building.
  4. Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions.

COGNITIVE ABILITY:

  1. Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  2. Ability to demonstrate good written and verbal skills.
  3. Ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to students staff and other employees of the organization.
  4. Ability to read write and do computations.
  5. Ability to work independently and make workrelated decisions.
  6. Ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  7. Ability to exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks and problem solving.
  8. Ability to use correct grammar sentence structure and spelling.
  9. Ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Within ten 10 weeks after the last athletic event supplemental contracts will either be officially reoffered to those holding them or will be officially opened to new applicants.

EVALUATION: Selfevaluation within two 2 weeks of season submitted to Assistant Principal/Director of Athletics. Annual reemployment evaluation within fortyfive 45 days of end of season.
