The Planning division within the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure is currently seeking passionate individuals to join our Planning Officer Environmental Assessment Officer and Planning Policy Officer (PO1A) Rotation Program.
We have multiple specialist teams each offering the unique opportunity to upskill and build a solid foundation across planning policy strategic planning state rezoning planning proposals statutory planning development and environmental assessments infrastructure management post approvals and compliance.
We are seeking highly motivated individuals to assist with the high quality efficient and timely assessment of the planning merits of State significant projects to meet all statutory obligations Government policy requirements and Government goals.
The Planning Officer assists to review and strengthen environment assessment policy in NSW to support efficient and timely turnaround times to provide greater certainty for applicants and the community about the delivery of assessment outcomes and to maintain the integrity of the Governments planning program.
Your ability to undertake competing assessment projects in a highpressure environment of conflicting external agency stakeholder and community expectations and you need to be able to translate complex technical information into easy to understand plain English guidelines reports and communications.
Our PO1A Rotation Program provides you with varied experience and opportunities across different teams within the NSW Planning division.
About You
Ideally you will have a minimum of 12 months experience within the planning environmental science biodiversity or environmental industry area. To be successful you will have an enthusiastic cando attitude and high attention to detail.
