SUMMARY:Newton South High School is hiring a costume designer for their after school theatre company South Stage.
Job responsibilities include costume design for the full show season and instructing students after school on the costume design process for shows throughout the school year. In between productions the costume designer is a dynamic part of our theatre team and teaches the knowledge and skills central to costume design after school. This is a
0.6 FTE position

Desired Qualifications:
- Experience teaching high school students
- Experience with other Technical Theater aspects is a plus but not required (Sound/Lighting/Set Design.
- Ability to work autonomously and make independent decisions
- Good problemsolving skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk stand sit talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to bend stoop crouch and/or kneel.
- Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
