About the role
TheDirectorofStudents Years 7 & 8 is responsible to the Principal through the Deputy Principal Campus Director St Catherine and is entrusted with overall responsibility for the guidance and support of the Year 7 and 8studentsin St Catherine Campus. This role is a member of the Leadership Team and assists and supports the DP Campus Director St Catherine in all aspects of the campus leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading as a member of the leadership team in the provision of an exemplary learning and child safe environment.
- In the first year of operation of the St Catherine Campus will encompass the responsibility for overseeing all areas of student wellbeing: Pastoral teaching and learning and learning diversity.
- Contributing to the leadership of the Student Wellbeing Team to continuously improve the pastoral care of students
- Building the capacity of Years 7 & 8 teachers with respect to student wellbeing child safe practices
- Overseeing the implementation of the Colleges Behaviour Management Policies in Years 7 & 8
- Case managing Years 7 & 8 students with significant wellbeing challenges including child safety concerns
- Planning coordinating and leading the Year 7 Camp
- Being an active presence for staff and students in the Year 7 & 8 buildings and classes.

This is a position of leadership forwith an ongoing teaching opportunity.

Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this position you should demonstrate the following:
- Exemplary student wellbeing and child safety understanding and practices.
- A proven capacity to lead a team and build the leadership capacity of others.
- Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise and communicate effectively with people at all levels and from varying backgrounds.
- Sound organisational and administrative skills.
- A proven capacity to work independently and effectively in the face of changing priorities deadlines and pressure.
- A proven ability to build positive partnerships with parents students and staff.
- A capacity for creative problemsolving and adaptability.
- A commitment to ongoing professional learning.
- A capacity to manage highly confidential information.
- Exemplary teaching skills and practices.
