General Overview
The Electrical Engineer Analog designs develops modifies and evaluates components and processes used in the generation manipulation transmission and storage of electricity for stateoftheart piezoelectric hydroacoustic transducers. Determines design approaches and parameters. Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability. Reviews vendor capability to support product development. Applies principles and techniques of electrical engineering to accomplish goals and requires a strong understanding of analog circuit theory and the ability to work through all stages of the electronics development lifecycle. This position requires exercising good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions generally involving complex analog and digital designs for embedded underwater products. Requires interaction with senior internal and external personnel while exhibiting professionalism and competency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Generates architecture for functional components and assist with product architecture.
Develops statement of work prepares related schedules for broad set of engineering activities within discipline or related discipline.
Designs and analyses electrical/electronic equipment on functional component level for commercial industrial and government uses with minor guidance on new product design.
Performs verification testing on functional component level for commercial industrial and government uses with minor guidance.
Uses computer aided engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks (e.g. schematic capture and PWB layout software such as PADS simulation software such as SPICE/PSPICE etc..
Delivers hardware designs through prototype beta and production release in compliance with TRDI product development process and quality practices.
After product release supports existing products by troubleshooting and failure analysis
Participates in technical design reviews of existing designs and peer reviews.
Consistently and correctly applies company prescribed processes and general best practices for design and development. Is familiar with best practices for design.
Provides application support to Sales and Marketing personnel as needed.
Demonstrates good customer relationship and significant commitment to customer goals.
Awareness and understanding of advanced technology and its applicability to TRDI products.
Manages multiple concurrent projects and completes deliverables on time and within budget.
Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.
Designs and develops analog electronic circuits and systems.
Analyzes customer needs and determines requirements capacity and cost for developing an electrical system plan.
Develops maintenance and testing procedures for electronic components and equipment.
Evaluates systems and recommends design modifications or equipment repair.
Inspects electronic equipment instruments and systems to ensure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations.
Plans and develops applications and modifications for electronic properties used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.
Conducts research and testing to gather data and determine the feasibility of proposed product designs.
Writes technical reports and creates documents to record and share data with colleagues stakeholders and clients.
Collaborates with project managers on production efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily on time and within budget.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This job has no supervisory responsibilities but may provide technical leadership to lower level engineers and technicians including carrying out lead responsibilities in accordance with applicable regulations and laws and the organizations policies and procedures. This includes but is not limited to training employees planning assigning directing work and resolving technically related work problems.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelors degree (B.S. from fouryear college or university in Electrical Engineering or related technical field and a minimum of 510 years of directly related experience with a combination of handson product design and/or sustaining engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Skills and Abilities
Recent experience within the last 25 years in handson electrical product design and an ability to take an electrical / board level design from conception to product release.
Experience with several analog/mixedsignal IC development cycles including design simulation layout and testing.
Experience with low noise amplifier filters and power supply design.
Experience with design practices such as minimizing device mismatch noise and signal coupling is a plus.
Experience in board level analog and digital design for embedded applications utilizing microprocessors DSPs and CPLDs/FPGAs.
Experience with PWB layout routing and component selection a plus.
Working knowledge of board assembly manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing of board level and electromechanical products.
Handson ability to use common test equipment including DVM digital oscilloscope logic analyzer is required.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word Excel and PowerPoint.
Candidate must be a selfstarter a strong team member and requires only limited supervision.
Must have strong interpersonal and communications skills and a willingness to proactively collaborate to solve problems.
Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively.

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including but not limited to location education/training work experience key skills and type of position.
