Network Capacity Services owns the software that keeps AWS redundant managing the scaling process from the forecast of the required capacity to the design of the future state of the network the management of the supply chain and eventually the turn up of the capacity. We are looking for an innovative highly autonomous and customerfocused software manager with a proven background of great judgment. In this role you will be responsible of the team building and running a largescale crossorganization distributed system. You will use cuttingedge technology to stay ahead of customers needs including sophisticated AI model to support demand forecast and the entire AWS ecosystem.

Key job responsibilities
As a Software Development Manager in Network Capacity Services you will lead and grow a multiskills team made up of software engineers technical program managers and applied scientists.
You will coach and mentor your team to continuously raise the bar.
You will be responsible for the tactical and strategical planning for your team and contribute to the larger organization planning. You will work directly with AWS service teams security operations and infrastructure teams to continually identify refine and develop new ideas and opportunities.
You will run your services guaranteeing the highest scalability availability and security standards while continuously improving the cost of ownership.

Working at AWS in the Core Networking Team Meet Matt Vice President Core Networking
4 years of engineering team management experience
7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
7 years of designing or architecting (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing certification and livesite operations
Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Experience in communicating with users other technical teams and senior leadership to collect requirements describe software product features technical designs and product strategy
Experience in recruiting hiring mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and make them more effective product software engineers

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
