Description of the Position: (Purpose of the Position):
The Dive Camp Counselor role supports all aspects of camp including supervision instructional support coaching recreational activities and camp operations from Sunday at 12pm until Thursday at 4pm. Housing and meals are provided during camp.
Transferable Skills:
Analyze skills and provide detailed feedback demonstrate leadership and guidance coaching and instruction.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Wake campers each morning; room checks each evening.
Organize and/or assist with daily dryland activities.
Provide supervision of campers at assigned activities both instructional and recreational for the duration of the camp session(s).
Be responsive and reachable throughout the duration of camp and oncampus from
10pm 8am daily.
Apply basic youth development principles in working with students through inclusivity communication relationship development and respect.
Be aware of and implement all safety guidelines. Follow and uphold all security rules and
procedures. Maintain high standards of health and safety in all activities for campers.
Interact with people from a diversity of backgrounds and experience.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: (Education/Experience/Skills)
Applicants should have a background in competitive diving and/or experience in other collegiate athletics strength and conditioning and strong desire for a future career which involves working with youth.
