Job Description

Duties And Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Course Director Seminar Leaders will be tasked with providing instruction counsel insight and attention to students registered in their the US 210 seminar group that will meet once per week (for fall semester). This is in addition to attending the seminar course taught once per week by the course director (during fall semester). We seek individuals who work professionally and effectively with diverse individuals possess effective interpersonal written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to contribute positively to the learning development and engagement of the students and the mission of Montana State University. This includes but is not limited to: Leading a seminar course of approximately 19 students Facilitating small group discussion and reflection activities case study work Grading papers assignments and a class presentation for each student Help students decode important information ideas and tactics and assimilate learning in alignment with the course objectives. Attending facilitator meetings once per week to discuss the material teaching pedagogy and classroom concerns as they arise. Working with student mentors when applicable. This may include some supervisory duties depending on the role of the mentor. Teach within the diverse University community and to help students from diverse backgrounds find success in their career and occupational aspirations. Synthesize their academic/professional experience with the classroom to deliver high quality career life design curriculum. Based upon funding need and employee performance there may be the possibility of work through the Fall semester to maintain the career planning momentum developed during the Summer Success Academy and to ensure progress is made by scholars from previous cohorts in their design life planning.
