ABOUT THE POSITION





The Riverside County Information Technology Department is seeking a skilled and creative IT Business System Analyst II with a strong foundation in frontend development and UI/UX principles to join their team in Riverside.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about crafting visually compelling and highly functional user experiences across a variety of digital platforms. The IT Business System Analyst II will be responsible for building responsive websites and applications using modern frontend technologies including HTML CSS/SCSS JavaScript and frameworks such as React Vue and Angular. A thorough understanding of crossbrowser compatibility performance optimization and seamless integration with APIs is essential as the analyst will work closely with backend developers to ensure cohesive functionality.

A key responsibility of this position is translating UI/UX wireframes and mockups into functional code while adhering to brand style guides and accessibility standards. The analyst must be capable of designing and refining visual elements to create intuitive interfaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and userfriendly. Work will be guided by usercentered design principles ensuring usability and accessibility are incorporated throughout all frontend implementations.

Under general supervision develops and implements information technology systems solutions to address business needs; and performs other related duties as required.
The IT Business Systems Analyst II is the journey level classification in the IT Business Systems Analyst series and reports to a supervisory or manager level position. Incumbents perform the full range of duties requiring a greater technical knowledge with little supervision or guidance.

The IT Business System Analyst II will also be accountable for testing and debugging interfaces to guarantee optimal performance and responsiveness across various devices and browsers. This includes verifying functionality and addressing any issues to ensure smooth and seamless user interactions.

This role requires close collaboration within agile or scrum teams working alongside backend developers product managers and designers. The analyst will participate in design and code reviews and provide insights into UI/UX feasibility and enhancements. Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset are essential for success in this teamoriented environment.

Candidates with demonstrated experience in both frontend development and UI/UX design will be given preference. This position is ideal for professionals who take pride in developing engaging userfocused interfaces and thrive in a collaborative development environment.

This position follows a 9/80 hybrid schedule offering a blend of remote and onsite work.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. FrontEnd Development

Build responsive websites and applications using HTML CSS JavaScript and frameworks (e.g. React Vue Angular).

Ensure crossbrowser compatibility and performance optimization.

Integrate APIs and work with backend developers to connect data and services.

2. UI Implementation

Translate UI/UX design wireframes or mockups into functional code.

Maintain consistency with brand style guides and accessibility standards.

Design refine and implement visual elements.

3. UX Considerations

Understand user needs through research.

Apply principles of usercentered design usability and accessibility.

Use wireframes prototypes or user flows to guide development decisions.

4. Testing & Debugging

Test interfaces for functionality performance and responsiveness.

Debug frontend code and ensure seamless user interactions.

5. Collaboration

Work in agile or scrum teams often collaborating with backend developers and product managers.

Participate in design reviews and code reviews.

Provide feedback on UI/UX feasibility and improvements.
