Technician Level II

As we continue to grow we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technician Level II to join our team and drive our relationships with hyperscale clients to new heights.

Technician Level II:
The Data Center Technician is the expert in facilitating the work of data centers and must be clued up on the latest technology pertinent to servers hardware operating systems and maintaining infrastructure. The Data Center Technician serves as a liaison with customers and offers advice and help for a range of problems. Data Center Technicians for the most part are available 24/7 working majorly 12 hour shifts 3 to 4 days a week.

Shift:Thursday through Saturday every other Wednesday 6pm 6am

Pay:$22 $25 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Conduct the daytoday operations for the Data Center
• Install racks and enclosures for equipment
• Prepare equipment for installation
• Update cable management systems as changes are made to the DC cable plant
• Update asset management systems as equipment is added/removed
• Execute tasks for each project and work with all teams to meet timelines
• Communicate project status updates to all teams and stakeholders
• Communicate information to assist with capacity planning for space power data communications and cooling
• Manage vendor resources to complete tasks as defined in SOWs
• Coordinate delivery and shipping of all equipment
• Access install remove and test copper/fiber optic cable from Point of Demarcation to Data Center Whitespace
• Cable installation within Whitespace
• Complete termination of copper/fiber cabling movesaddsand changes (MAC)
• Panel installations patch cord management cabinet installation and proper device connections
• Inside/Outside plant installation in accordance with required TIA standards
• Policing of computer rooms always ensuring cleanliness and that no cardboard is stored
• Reports hazards and violations of any safety issues

Additional Accountabilities:

• 100 completion and fulfillment of Client SOW and expectations
• 100 accurate and timely documentation of work orders
• Accurate and timely submission of timesheet documentation in Field Service
• Accurate and timely submission of Task Hazard/Activity Hazard Assessments in Field service
• Accurate and timely submission of Incident Reports in Field Service
• 100 completion of required TalentLMS based Safety and Compliance training courses as assigned
• 100 adherence to Salute Mission Critical safety standards and best practices
• 100 adherence to client security/privacy practices and expectations
• Required Qualifications Skills and Experience:
• Experience in Data Centers and colocation environments managing hardware assets
• Demonstrable project management experience with the ability to manage tasks under tight deadlines
• Experience with a large variety of different vendor hardware: servers storage and network equipment
• Experience in contributing to detailed project plans for programs involving cross functional teams and challenging requirements
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate issue resolution across departmental teams
• Experience coordinating vendors
• Experience with Asset Management Systems
• Experience in managing inventory of cable power cords and other infrastructure items

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment up to 40lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs to access elevated equipment
• Ability to stand for long periods of time in various work environments
• Ability to bend stoop kneel and reach for equipment related tasks
• Basic physical fitness to respond quickly to emergency situations and navigate areas quickly
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently withing various work environments to troubleshoot issues or respond to emergencies.
• Good handeye coordination and dexterity for working with small components and connectors
• Clear vision with or without correction to perform tasks requiring attention to detail and precision while wearing safety glasses
• Ability to differentiate between colorcoded warning signs labels and cables
• Ability to work in environments with a wide variety temperature inside a facility
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions including extreme temperatures rain or snow
• Capability to work in environments with elevated noise levels while wearing hearing protection
• Possession of a valid drivers license for workrelated travel as

• Ability to understand drawings plans and specifications
• Ability to follow instructions to complete project in a timely and qualitative manner
• Possess Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet competency
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects
• Possess a strong sense of methodology processes and metrics
• Possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Possess strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
• Physical ability to lift at least 4070 lbs. on a regular basis and able to use server lifts or pallet jacks
