The SrInvestment Associatewill act as primary support for a team of Portfolio Advisors performing multiple investmentrelated and client service activities for Wealth Management clients. TheSr Investment Associatewill perform a broad range of administrative and portfolio management support functions aimed at delivering highquality proactive client service and investment for numerous client relationships. Responsibilities include:

  • Directly supports the Portfolio Advisors in their efforts to provide a worldclass wealth management experience to their clients.
  • Assists in the preparation of portfolio review and market outlook presentation material for client meetings and client communication. The Associate is responsible for timely and accurate completion of material often under tight deadlines.
  • Works on investment oriented project requests oversees transaction processing obtains appropriate documentation and ensures systems information is uptodate.
  • Monitors and takes ownership of all compliance related duties and followup procedures. Consults with PAs on action items and communicates with clients to address documentation requirements including investment objective confirmation forms and investment responsibility letters.
  • Adheres to National Investment Guidelines and observes sound risk management practices.
  • Develops a clear understanding of client specific needs preferences and expectations. Communicates with clients and Portfolio Advisors on client requests
  • Works with the tax area to research discrepancies and oversee adjustments on client accounts regarding tax cost issues.
  • Develops fluency in Northern Trusts Goals Driven Wealth Management (GDWM) financial planning and portfolio modeling software.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of Northern Trusts investment philosophy investment platform asset allocation strategy and investment fulfillment vehicles. Develops an ability to communicate effectively about market trends and developments.
  • Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on practice and existing precedents or procedures.

Qualifications:

  • A foundational understanding of financial markets and passion for investments and investing. Knowledge of investment products services and terminology.
  • Incredibly high attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and capable of articulating complicated information to advisors and clients.
  • Capable of working well in a team environment in order to accomplish team objectives.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite of products with advanced fluency in Excel including experience creating macros pivot tables charting Vlookup etc.
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer systems which are required to perform role.

Experience:

  • Previous years of experience within the financial services industry.
  • Coursework completion towards obtaining a CFA or CFP designation is a plus.

This is an officebased position and for the effective performance of this role the duties and responsibilities must be carried out onsite.
