Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and responsible individual to join our Childcare Center team as a parttime Childcare Bus Driver. This role requires you to ensure the safe transportation of children to and from the childcare center. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety demonstrate excellent communication skills and be committed to creating a nurturing environment for children.
Please note: This is a parttime position 56 hours a day on field trip days.
Childcare Bus Driver:
- Safe Transportation: Safely operate the childcare centers bus or vehicle to transport children to and from the center ensuring the wellbeing of each child during transit.
- PreTrip Inspection: Conduct pretrip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance or safety concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Adherence to Regulations: Strictly adhere to all local state and federal transportation regulations including ensuring that children are secured in appropriate child safety seats and seat belts.
- Emergency Procedures: Be prepared to respond to emergencies during transit including administering first aid if necessary and evacuate children safely in case of accidents.
- Communication: Maintain open and clear communication with parents or guardians regarding pickup and dropoff times and any changes or delays in the schedule.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily transportation including attendance mileage and fuel usage.
Qualifications:
- Valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with passenger endorsement (for Childcare Bus Driver role).
- Clean driving record with no history of accidents or traffic violations.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- First aid and CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly patient demeanor.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate a childcare bus or vehicle.
