The Department of Human Services (DHS) Wernersville State Hospital is seeking dedicated and ambitious individuals to provide custodial care in our facility. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Custodial Worker 1 you will providecustodial and linen distribution services for living units offices and miscellaneous areas in over 10 buildings on our 266bed hospital campus. You will perform basic housekeeping and maintain a clean comfortable and sanitary environment for patients staff and visitors. An employee in this position will be considered an essential employee and will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings. In addition you will use universal infection precautions daily operate custodial equipment report equipment repair needs and attend development programs and training classes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM Monday Friday with a 30minute lunch. You will work rotating weekends and holidays as assigned.
- Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime and travel as needed

- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $34523.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police and FBI clearance.
