OverviewoftheRole
We are seeking an experienced Controller responsible for all aspects of daytoday financial management including global accounting operations (US Canada Europe) financial reporting and internal controls. Reporting to the CFO the Controller will be responsible for leading the accounting team both in the US Canada and Europe. Candidate must be a handson manager and with experience in a global fastpaced high growth environment.
A key role in the company we are looking for a positive proactive enthusiastic leader with software experience US GAAP knowledge and ability to set up systems. Upshop uses NetSuite for its ERP and Salesforce for its CRM.
Responsibilities
- Completeallperiodendreportingrequirements(monthendquarterendetc.)forbothinternalandexternalstakeholders.
- ResponsiblefordaytodayaccountingoperationsincludingbutnotlimitedtoAPARpayrollcashmanagement.
- Developanddocumentbusinessprocessesandaccountingpoliciestomaintainandstrengtheninternalcontrols.
- Manageandsupervise3directreportsaswellasoutsidecontractors/advisorsasrequired
- RevenuerecognitionexperienceforbothSaaSandPerpetualsoftwarelicensingmodelsunderASC606(orIFRS15.
- Researchandprovideguidanceonapplicationoftechnicalaccountingissues.
- Developstrategyforfuturesystemimplementationsandenhancements/upgrades
- WorkwiththeCFOandotherleadershiponM&Aduediligence.
- WorkcloselywithFP&ARevenueOperationsandfunctionalbusinessunitleaderstoprovideactionableinsightandanalysisbothadhocandregular.
- PartnerwithFP&Aandbusinessunitleaderstodeveloppredictableandcrediblefinancialreporting.
- ProvidequalitycontroloverfinancialtransactionsandfinancialreportingtoensurecompliancewithGAAPtaxandnecessaryregulatoryreportingrequirements.
- ImprovethesystemsandprotocolstomaintaingoodcostcontrolshealthybudgetingandoverseedisciplinedAR/APmanagement.
- ManageannualauditandpreparationofconsolidatedfinancialstatementsinaccordancewithUSGAAP.
- Workwithinternationalsubsidiaryexternalaccountantstoensurecompliancewithlocalstatutoryrequirementsaswellasreportingforconsolidatedfinancialsincludingtransferpricingmechanismsandintercompanyeliminations.
- Salestaxandfederalandstateincometaxfilingsinternationaltaxandothercompliancematters.
Qualifications
- ProveworkingexperienceasaControllerinahighgrowthenvironmentwithSaaSsoftwareindustryexperience
- AformalaccountingeducationandmembershipwithanaccountingbodyCPAand/orCMApreferred.
- Highethicalstandards

- Experiencewithcreatingfinancialstatementsmonthend/yearendcloseprocesses
