About the Senior Front End Developer role
This might just be the best Engineering opportunity in Canada (if we do say so ourselves). Float is looking for exceptional Senior Front End Developers to build simple elegant and highly intuitive interfaces for our customers. Developers hired will play a critical role in building products used every day for Floats growing customer base.
In this role youll be responsible for building and enabling beautiful and seamless experiences for our customers that take month end from tedious to delightful. Youll have the opportunity to impact the growth of a diverse crosssection of Canadian businesses through your work.
You will work with small crossfunctional teams (squads of 58 people in product engineering design and ops) and will have extreme ownership over your product vertical. Squads will have everything they need to move quickly be innovative decisive and quickly ship highquality products and features.
What your daytoday looks like:
Create features using modern JavaScript frameworks like React
Keep uptodate with best practices and tooling from the JavaScript React and CSS communities
Openly collaborate with your team to solve problems and learn from failures
Mentor others and help lead estimation efforts on your team
Own the front end aspects of project and work stream delivery
Youll be great in this role if:
You have exceptional ability. This comes first were looking for developers with exceptional ability. Regardless if you have any of the other points listed below.
Youve got the experience. To be successful in this role were looking for 5 years of Front End development experience in a B2B SaaS environment.
Youre missiondriven. You are motivated by the company vision mission and culture and approach each problem with curiosity empathy and a sense of urgency.
Youve got experience with our techstack. Typescript/React (exposure to Python/Django AWS is helpful).
Youre motivated by being a leader. You have a track record of shipping highquality products and features at scale. You take ownership over your work and master your craft as an IC.
Youre eager to continue your own learning. Spy and voracious you want to know the why behind every answer.
You believe the customer comes first. Youll advocate endlessly for our customers and have a natural curiosity to understand their needs.
