The Associate Director of Equity and Excellence is responsible for guiding efforts and creating opportunities to define assess and promote diversity equity and inclusion educational employment opportunities and cultural proficiency. Minimum Qualifications:Bachelors Degree required; Masters Degree in relevant field preferredSecond language fluency or competency preferredDemonstrated success implementing systemic initiatives and managing change within a complex organization Experience in the development and maintenance of collaborative relationships with institutions of higher education to provide for professional development and cultivation of programs that assist in the recruitment and retention of highquality educatorsDemonstrate prior experience developing and implementing successful DEI initiatives in a large and Responsibilities:Facilitate decisionmaking around strategic district priorities Develop ongoing and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop and communicate a DEI plan Seek to promote a culture of equity by continually reviewing the existing curricula and preparing for new curricula focused on antibias and cultural proficiency in collaboration with the Office of Teaching and Learning Collaborate with the Human Resources department to develop and implement additional initiatives for the recruitment and retention of staff of colorPlan and lead professional development throughout the year to address needs around issues of diversity equity and inclusionConfer with stakeholders to ensure that the initiatives policies and practices of the district are grounded in research and best practicesManage and lead interest groups districtwide while overseeing identityfocused affinity groupsServe as a strategic advisor to the Superintendents cabinet with a lens on antiracist/antibiased management including support with special programsProvide support and consultation to leaders in assessing challenges and opportunities and implement responsive strategiesServe as a regular and active listener to employees students and community members to both gain insight into current concerns and assess the effectiveness of the districts approaches to equity inclusion antiracism and antibias strategies Demonstrate the ability to create implement and adhere to federal state and local laws and policies Consult with the Office of Unified Student Services regarding incidents involving bias and discrimination Other related duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Unified Student ServicesReports to: Assistant Superintendent of Unified Student ServicesHours:This is a 12month position.
