Position Summary and Responsibilities
To support our continued growth we have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior AIVT Engineer to join our Verification & Test team. The candidate will be given the responsibility of commissioning testing and verifying functional electrical mechanical and environmental requirements on component subsystem and system level projects.
- Work as a key member of the project team with the Project manager Project Lead Engineer and Product Assurance Engineer to deliver fully tested and verified systems.
- Lead the AIVT solution on the project for successful delivery of a subsystem or payload for spacebased application.
- Produce and implement test and verification plans flowing down from system level requirements for the various stages of development.
- Planning commissioning and performing functional electrical mechanical and environmental tests at subsystem and system level.
- Provide documentation and present at design test and project reviews for both internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with project managers to provide inputs to schedules; risk management plans; budget management as required.
- Work with external programme partners to review their AIVT approach.
- Subsystem and system verification testing.
- Managing the availability of test equipment between different projects.
- Defining requirements for test systems (GSE) and setup and operation of EGSE and MGSE.
- AIT unit and system integration and test.
- Verification and acceptance testing/screening of FrontEnd Electronics and Payload Systems to ECSS standards.
Experience
- Degree in Electrical Engineering Physics or related field.
- Previous experience in spaceflight hardware and subsystem or system AIT for space applications.
- Test planning and scheduling.
- Experience working with verification / validation of requirements.
- Experience of scripting and operation of EGSE systems.
- Good general electrical and electronics background.
- Knowledge of environmental testing of subsystems for space.
- Experience of engineering lifecycle management and requirements management.
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent problemsolving abilities and attention to technical details.
- Excellent at planning and organising.
- Working in and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Good knowledge of MS Office Excel Word PowerPoint and Microsoft Project.
- Proficient in general programming e.g. matlab and python.
- Excellent communication presentation and document writing skills.
- Knowledge of Space Standards (i.e. ECSS).
