About the Role
The Psychiatrist/Addiction Psychiatrist is accountable for the delivery of clinical services to consumers of the Hawthorn and Clarendon CMHS who require specialist integrated mental health and Alcohol and Other service in partnership with the primary treating Consultant Psychiatrist and Clinical Team. Other key aspects of the role are service development and capacity building within the Youth and Adult Area Mental Health Service in partnership with NEXUS and the SVHM Addiction Medicine Service to promote integration of expert clinical Alcohol and Other Drug treatment into tertiary mental healthcare

The Psychiatrist will lead service provision and provide both primary assessments and secondary consultations provide staff education and training promote capacity building of staff and deliver or supervise delivery of AOD treatment and interventions within an integrated model. Internal and external stakeholder liaison and development of partnerships will be a requirement of the role

Classifications for this position will range from HN18 HN58 $166.89 $216.66/hr).

Your Contribution

  • Fellowship of The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists
  • Certificate in Addiction Psychiatry is preferred
  • Experience in community mental health is preferred
  • Registration with AHPRA
  • Current National criminal history check or willing to obtain/ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willing to obtain (Select which is applicable)

About St Vincents Mental Health Program
St. Vincents Mental Health and Addiction Medicine Program (MHAM) includes the inner east adult and older adult area mental health and wellbeing service for the innercity areas of Yarra and Boroondara and the Addiction Medicine Service.

This includes delivering community and acute Tier 5 Mental Health Services to older youth (aged 18 to 25years).

Two community mental health services (CMHS) are located at Hawthorn and East Melbourne (Clarendon CMHS). Community mental health services comprise Continuing Care (CCT) Mobile Support and Treatment (MST) Homeless Outreach (CHOPS) Perinatal Emotional Health (PEH) and Public Housing Tenancy Support (STAY) services.
