As a Staff Engineer on the SlideShare Team you will play a key role in designing developing and maintaining frontend SlideShare projects driving the technical architecture and contributing to the evolution of the platforms userfacing experiences. This is a unique opportunity to leverage the latest web technologies including JavaScript CSS and GraphQL while also collaborating on innovative projects that involve Machine Learning (ML) and Large Language Models (LLMs)

What Youll Do:

• Lead frontend technical decisions for SlideShare projects ensuring scalability performance and maintainability of web applications.

• Design and implement new features using JavaScript CSS and GraphQL to enhance the user experience.

• Collaborate with machine learning teams to integrate ML models and Large Language Models (LLMs) into the frontend delivering personalized content and intelligent user experiences.

• Work closely with product managers designers and backend engineers to create highquality usercentric features.

• Mentor junior engineers helping them develop their technical skills and fostering a culture of best practices and continuous learning.

• Collaborate with backend engineers to build integrated fullstack solutions when needed while maintaining a focus on frontend technologies.

Were Looking for Someone With:

• 8 years of handson software development experience specializing in frontend technologies.

• Expertise in JavaScript TypeScript and ES6.

• Strong understanding of Ruby on Rails or similar application framework.

• Proven ability to build scalable highperformance web applications using modern frontend frameworks.

• Strong understanding of web performance optimization UI/UX best practices and developing responsive accessible web applications.

• Demonstrated experience leading frontend technical decisions and owning the architecture of largescale web applications.

• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to deliver projects on time.

• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment and present complex technical ideas to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

At Scribd your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role level and geographic location. San Francisco is our highest geographic market in the United States. In the state of California the reasonably expected salary range is between $164500 to $256000

In the United States outside of California the reasonably expected salary range is between $135000 to $243500.

In Canada the reasonably expected salary range is between $171500CAD to $227500CAD

We carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation including but not limited to experience; jobrelated skill sets; relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs. The salary range listed is for the level at which this job has been scoped. In the event that you are considered for a different level a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for a competitive equity ownership and a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
