About the role
As the Officer Assessment Adjustments you will respond to enquiries across multiple email accounts including the special consideration and HESA remission of debt in special circumstances email accounts with a particular focus on queries concerning those processes. You will provide accurate advice and service and timely information to stakeholders about the Assessment policy and related processes/procedures for which the unit is responsible. Further to this you will also assist in processing special consideration and HESA remission of debt in special circumstances applications and administrative tasks relating to these processes.
While primarily focused on the aforementioned business activities this role also undertakes academic
Progress and result related activities (and any other Integrity and Assessment Support unit activities as .
To be successful in this position you will have:
Excellent written and verbal communication and proofreading skills with the ability to listen interpret and convey information (including relevant policy and procedural information) in a clear concise accurate and diplomatic manner.
Experience running complex administrative processes and adapting to process change.
Proficient computer skills and a high level of accuracy in data entry and typing with attention to spelling grammar and presentation. Demonstrated experience and ongoing learning with Microsoft Office and email applications. Experience with a Campus Solutions student management system is an advantage.
Strong interpersonal skills including the proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute effectively as a member of an administrative team.
Demonstrated ability to work flexibly accurately (strong attention to detail) and efficiently with minimal supervision as a member of a team in a high volume repetitive and pressured environment.
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest level and respond to sensitive and difficult situations and communications in a diplomatic manner.
Experience in a similar role in a university student services or customer service environment is highly desirable.

About the Portfolio
The Education Portfolio is led by the Deputy ViceChancellor Education and VicePresident who is responsible for planning and implementation of the Universitys strategies related to RMITs academic programs and the student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs including the professional development of academic staff continuous improvement of the student experience learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.
The Education Portfolio plays a key role in empowering students to access education participate actively in the life of the University and achieve successful and fulfilling lives beyond graduation. The provision of a stimulating and satisfying experience for students is a priority for the University.
The Academic Registrars Group (ARG) is responsible for a range of activities underpinning the student lifecycle from enrolment though to graduation. The ARG operating environment is highly complex in view of more than 82000 student enrolments across the University in both vocational and higher education programs at campuses in Melbourne Europe and Vietnam as well as at several offshore locations in conjunction with educational and industry partners.
RMIT has one of the highest numbers of international student enrolments within Australian universities; consequently compliance requirements are significant with State and Federal legislation imposing numerous and frequently revised regulatory obligations.
The ARG has a staff establishment of around 140 EFT in Australia and Vietnam and an operating budget in excess of $20 million.
Core University services provided by the Academic Registrars Group include: Integrity: academic policy student conduct student complaints university appeals assessment support including special consideration results and academic progress; Academic Governance and Systems: government reporting systems operations academic and admissions governance; invigilated assessment (accreditation compliance); Enrolment and Student Records: student financials enrolment services student records enrolment compliance and global enrolment services; Completions and Graduations: program completions and graduation ceremonies.
