Job Description

Job Title: Teacher for Robotics Coding EngineeringReports to: Campus AdministratorAssignment: Assigned Campus/GradeWage/Hour Status: ExemptPay Grade: 187 daysDate Revised: 2025.4Terms of Employment:This FLSA exempt position (salaried nonhourly) is on a work calendar of 187 days per school year. Pay is based on years of experience from the annually reviewed and board of directors adopted Teachers Nurses Librarians and Counselors salary scale. Current year salary scales may be viewed on our school Purpose:Seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Robotics Teacher to join our middle school faculty. The ideal candidate will inspire and engage students in grades 6 through 8 in the exciting world of robotics coding and engineering. The teacher will design and deliver handson projectbased learning experiences that foster critical thinking creativity and degree in Education Engineering Computer Science or a related state teaching certification (or ability to obtain) in the appropriate subject degree from an accredited universityDemonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assignedMust have reliable transportation a valid Texas drivers license and a good driving meet and maintain the schools liability insurance coverage :Required:Experience teaching or working with middle schoolaged experience in robotics computer science or :Proficiency with educational robotics platforms and coding languages (e.g. Scratch Python C).Familiarity with design thinking Makerspace tools or 3D printing is a Knowledge/Skills:Ability to instruct students and manage their behaviorStrong organizational communication and interpersonal skillsMajor Responsibilities and Duties:(The following statements describe the general purpose and responsibilities assigned and should not be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities skills efforts or working conditions that may be assigned or skills that may be required.)Key Responsibilities:Plan develop and deliver robotics instruction aligned with state standards and school foundational and intermediate concepts in robotics coding (e.g. blockbased and/or textbased programming) engineering and platforms such as LEGO MINDSTORMS VEX Robotics or Arduino depending on the schools robotics and implement projectbased learning units that engage students in realworld a positive inclusive and productive classroom students in preparing for and participating in robotics competitions (e.g. FIRST LEGO League VEX IQ Challenge).Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary STEM safety standards in the robotics lab and manage classroom resources and assessment tools to evaluate student performance and provide timely effectively with students parents and school staff regarding student progress and classroom StrategiesDevelop and implement lesson plans that fulfill the requirements of the districts curriculum program and show written evidence of preparation as lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning subject matter according to guidelines established by the Texas Education Agency board policies and administrative and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials and equipment that reflect an understanding of the learning styles and needs of students an assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional with other members of staff to determine instructional goals objectives and methods according to district and supervise assignments of teacher aide(s) and volunteer(s).Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).Student Growth and DevelopmentHelp students analyze and improve study methods and ongoing assessments of student achievement through formal and informal responsibility for extracurricular activities as assigned. Sponsor outside activities approved by the campus a positive role model for students and support the mission of the school Management and OrganizationCreate a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of student behavior following the Student Code of Conduct and student all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and in the selection of books equipment and other instructional and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents students principals and a professional relationship with colleagues students parents and community effective communication skills to present information accurately and Growth and DevelopmentParticipate in staff development activities to improve jobrelated informed of and comply with state district and school regulations and policies for classroom maintain and file all physical and computerized reports records and other documents and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as Responsibilities:NoneMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:Work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress.
