Seal Rock Healthcare part of the Atlantic Heights Community is a fullylicensed Medicaid/Medicarecertified facility offering 105 beds. Our Maintenance Team at Seal Rock supports our entire Atlantic Heights Community which includes The Inn an 80 apartment assisted living and The Cottages 45 independent living cottages.Under the ownership of First Atlantic Healthcare the Atlantic Heights Community follows in First Atlantics long standing reputation for excellence in long term care assisted living and senior living.

First Atlantic Healthcare is seeking an Assistance Director or Nursing (ADON) to join our team providing quality care in the local Maine communities


The Assistant Director of Nursing in collaborationwith the Director of Nursing directs the day to day operations of nursingservices effectively and efficiently in accordance with regulatory complianceguidelines Standards of Nursing practice and principles of customer serviceexcellence. The right candidate will havethe aptitude intelligence and positive energy in amanner that promotes high morale monumental customer satisfaction regulatorycompliance and quality of care.

SKILLS and ABILITIES

CERTIFICATES and LICENSES
  • Currently a registered nurse /licensed in Maine.
  • Certification upon hire or obtain it during orientation. CPR certification must remain current during employment.

As the Assistant Director of Nursing your areas of focus are:

CLINICAL
  • Ensure clinical competency and training in collaboration with the SDC in the Electronic Charting system to ensure accurate timely and efficient documentation of resident care provided.
  • Oversight of the interdisciplinary care planning process to include initial planning (on admission to the unit); interim planning (to include clinical status changes); and the required Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI)
  • Evaluation of the nursing care facility can meet each residents needs which includes the potential new admission to the facility a current resident of the facility or the transfer of a resident from the facility.

PROFESSIONAL
  • Consult with medical business and community groups to discuss service problems respond to community needs enhance public relations coordinate activities and plans and promote health programs.
  • Develop or expand and implement medical programs or health services that promote research rehabilitation and community health.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians nursing staff and other professional and nonprofessional staff.
  • Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures as well as the laws regulations and guidelines governing nursing functions in the longterm care facility.
  • Understand and follow company policies including harassment and complaint procedures.
  • Maintain skills in order to provide direct nursing care as necessary.

OPERATIONS
  • Conduct and administer fiscal operations including accounting planning budgets authorizing expenditures establishing rates for services and coordinating financial reporting.
  • Maintain communication between governing boards medical staff and department heads by attending board meetings and coordinating interdepartmental activity.
  • Plan organize develop implement and interpret the programs goals objectives policies and procedures of the Nursing Services department.
  • Review and analyze facility activities and data to aid planning and cash and risk management and to improve service utilization.
  • Prepare activity reports to inform management of the status and implementation plans of programs services and quality initiatives.
  • Use of diagnostic services inpatient beds facilities and staff to ensure effective use of resources and assess the need for additional staff equipment and services.
  • Develop and maintain computerized record management systems to store and process data such as personnel activities and information and to produce reports.
  • Inspect facilities and recommend building or equipment modifications to ensure emergency readiness and compliance to access safety and sanitation regulations.
