• Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
• Position Status: Fulltime 30 hours per week
• Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm with occasional weekend hours

Heres what to expect as a Employment Specialist:

• Assist individuals in obtaining and maintaining communitybased competitive independent employment.
• Assist individuals with employment applications interview preparation job development job training and social skills training.
• Provide ongoing observation supervision and guidance for the individuals.
• Ensure the delivery of natural supports at the worksites of the individuals.
• Communicate with the individuals their family members/guardians and their employers to reinforce and stabilize job placement.
• Help individuals with disabilities build selfesteem and independence through making everyday decisions.
• Use effective communication to build relationships and rapport with the individuals.
• Develop and carry out an individualized plan based on individual preferences needs and interests.

Minimum requirements of a Empoyment Specialist:

• 6 months to 2 years of previous job coaching related experience
• Knowledge specific to the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and/or autism
• A valid drivers license and 6 months driving experience
• Access to a vehicle with valid insurance registration and inspection
• 18 years of age
• Ability to communicate read write and understand the English language
• Ability to work independently with strong time management skills.

Preferred but not required:

• ACRE/CESP certification. If none must be willing to obtain within 6 months of the start of employment.
