This position is part of the Emerging Technologies Team located in Redwood City CA and will be onsite. At IDT we are one global team. We celebrate our differences engage in healthy debate and are inclusive. Together we accomplish great things.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Lead the research and development of innovative oligo synthesis techniques and instrumentation.
- Leverage your breadth of expertise to deliver transformative capabilities for IDTs oligo synthesis platforms from initial ideation to implementation in a manufacturing environment.
- Effectively communicate and facilitate technical collaborations with internal stakeholders business partners and customers
- Mentor and train other team members in new technologies
- Other duties as assigned
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelors degree in biology chemistry or a related science field.
- Minimum of 7 years laboratory research using nucleic acids (cloning oligo synthesis PCR NGS CRISPR or similar) required.
- Oligo synthesis process or related research experience especially in emerging technologies (e.g. novel chemical enzymatic array or microfluidics)
Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- Ability to travel 10 time domestically
- Ability to occasionally lift move or carry equipment up to 10lb
- Ability to frequently work in a laboratory environment for extended periods
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Advanced degree (masters or PhD) in life science (biology molecular biology genetics chemistry biochemistry) or a related field
- Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. Python)
- Demonstrated experience with hybridization capture or amplicon sequencing NGS protocols
The salary range for this role is $170000$190000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
