Job Description

The Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the financial operations of L.U. Electric Inc. with a focus on accurate invoicing payment processing and account reconciliation. This is a temporary parttime position that is expected to last approximately three months. The first two weeks will be fulltime for training purposes. After training the position will transition to a parttime schedule with the option for a hybrid work arrangement combining inoffice and remote work.

This role requires strong attention to detail excellent organizational skills and proactive communication with customers vendors and internal departments. The ideal candidate will be reliable adaptable and able to work both independently and collaboratively within a fastpaced environment.

Supports the Accounting and Finance Department by performing the following:

  • Prepares posts verifies and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
  • Maintains and updates customer records including changes to contact information or billing preferences.
  • Drafts and sends standard pastdue notices and follows up with customers on outstanding balances.
  • Reviews account activity identifies discrepancies and works with the Accounting Manager to resolve issues.
  • Assists in generating monthly billing statements and reconciling revenue accounts.
  • Prepares and manages vendor accounts and processes invoices using QuickBooks Online.
  • Responds to internal and external inquiries regarding accounts payments and documentation.
  • Performs general administrative tasks including filing scanning and answering phone calls to support the department.

Other duties may be assigned based on departmental needs.

Skills & Abilities

  • Capacity to thrive in highpressure environments consistently delivering results to meet established targets.

  • Accounts Receivable Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to prepare post verify and reconcile customer payments with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Customer Account Management: Experience maintaining and updating customer records managing billing adjustments and tracking outstanding balances through consistent followup.

  • Collections & Dispute Resolution: Skilled in drafting collection correspondence identifying delinquent accounts and communicating with customers to resolve payment issues professionally.

  • Administrative & Clerical Expertise: Capable of handling clerical tasks such as filing document retrieval and organizing transaction records to support a wellfunctioning accounting department.

  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with customers regarding account status billing discrepancies and payment arrangements.

  • Analytical & ProblemSolving Skills: Ability to investigate account variances and collaborate with the Accounting Manager to ensure billing and revenue accuracy.

  • Mastery of the English Language: Comprehensive knowledge of English language structure including grammar composition and effective business communication.

  • Spanish fluency is required to perform this job efficiently.

 

 

  • Education and/or Experience  Bachelors degree (B.A. in Accounting from a fouryear college or university; or at least two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have general knowledge of GAAP.

  • Language Skills  Ability to read analyze and interpret technical procedures and government regulations. Capable of writing professional business correspondence and presenting information clearly in discussions with managers clients and customers.

  • Mathematical Skills  Ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure using whole number common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Reasoning Ability  Strong conceptual and problemsolving skills with the ability to solve practical problems and address various concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Capable of interpreting instructions in written oral diagram or schedule form.

  • Computer Skills  To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge and experience working with Office365 and RingCentral. Experience working with QuickBooks Online.
