MOVE (Mobilize Organize Vote Empower) Texas innovates democracy for our generation. We work daily to build a more just and representative future that empowers inspiring new leaders to keep making Texas better. Our vision is to build the political power of young people to transform democracy in Texas and beyond. While we are known as MOVE Texas we are comprised of two organizations.
MOVE Texas Action Fund 501(c)4 is the political arm of MOVE Texas an organization dedicated to building the political power of young people in underrepresented communities through civic engagement leadership development and issue advocacy.
MOVE Texas Civic Fund 501(c)3 is a nonpartisan nonprofit grassroots organization building power in underrepresented youth communities through civic education leadership development and issue advocacy.
MOVE Texas operates throughout Texas and primarily in San Antonio Laredo Seguin San Marcos Austin Houston College Station Fort Worth Denton and Dallas. We plan to continue growing and serving other cities and counties beyond these areas.

Statewide MOVE Texas Membership: Members join the statewide network gaining access to exclusive statewide virtual training distributed leadership opportunities and statewide campaigns. (Ex: Attending Anti LegeLege Club training testifying at the capitol or hosting a distributed National Voter Registration Day event.
Local Membership (Chapters & Community Hubs): Members plug into local organizing through a MOVE Texas chapter taking action in their own communities while staying connected to the statewide movement.
Campus Organizers are bootsontheground student leaders participating in the Campus Chapter Program MOVE Texas flagship leadership development program that invests in institutionally recognized student organizations that increase campus civic participation through voter engagement community learning and issue advocacy. By centering voter engagement and issue advocacy in the student experience Campus Organizers create spaces for young people to become more civically engaged build meaningful relationships escalate peers into leadership and mobilize their campus community on the issues they care about. Campus Organizers work collaboratively across the organization to build foundational civic leadership skills such as grassroots organizing strategies and tactics political education and leadership development through statewide and local training experiential learning and a guided capstone.

At MOVE Texas we know that art is a highly effective tool to agitate provoke and inspire action amongst young folks. The Artists in Residence Program is a space for new Texasbased artists who want to use their creativity to fuel civic engagement amplify the voices of young people across the state and shape narratives influencing the Texas progressive ecosystem. Through this program young artists will work directly with our organizing teams to create powerful works that bring political issues to life and mobilize their peers to take action.

The National Artists of Texas Fellowship is a projectbased fellowship for artists who see their creative practice as a tool for collective liberation. Designed for strong practicing artists eager to merge art with activism this fellowship provides space to develop original work that sparks conversations builds collective power and moves Texans to take action. In each fellowship cycle fellows explore a central themeranging from civic engagement to various issue advocacy areas using their craft to confront systems of oppression and uplift movements for social progress. With mentorship strategic guidance and a platform to amplify their work fellows create dynamic pieces contributing to cultural organizing and grassroots campaigns.

Our internship program is designed to develop the next generation of leaders by giving them handson experience in how a membershipdriven movement organization operates. Interns build critical skills in leadership project management and organizational strategy while supporting the internal work that keeps MOVE Texas running strong. Whether its helping plan events supporting communications or strengthening our internal processes MOVE Texas Intern will be part of a team working to make civic engagement more accessible exciting and effective.

MOVE Texas considers opportunities to partner for service learning or academic internships on a rolling basis.
Servicelearning is an educational approach that integrates community service with classroom learning. Through the consistent and mutually beneficial nature of service learning/academic internship relationships our teams can develop youth leaders that can lead a grassroots organizing movement beyond a single semester. MOVE discovered its power through campusbased organizing and by deepening our relationships with campus institutions we can become the goto organization for a holistic rewarding and meaningful civic and communityoriented learning experience.
