Job Description

The Graduate Fellow / Womens Basketball has various responsibilities collaborating with the Head Coach coaching staff and support staff members in all aspects of the basketball program. This includes but is not limited to practice planning and game preparation player development knowledge of software administrative/operational duties mentoring student athletes and recruiting. The Graduate Fellow will be expected to uphold the academic and athletic standards of the institution while pursuing their graduate studies. This position is crucial in providing analytical analysis for coaches & student athletes to enhance performance.

This position reports to the Head Coach and Assistant Coaches. This role is responsible for adhering to all department & university policies & procedures as well as the rules regulations bylaws & interpretations of the Atlantic Coast Conference ACC & National Collegiate Athletic Association NCAA. Requires nonstandard working hours evening nights weekends & holiday work and travel. Finally in adherence to current NCAA rules this position must actively pursue an advanced degree.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related eld and enrollment at Virginia Tech to pursue an advanced degree during appointment.
Demonstrated basketball experience &/or coaching experience at a collegiate or professional level.
Working knowledge of basketball terminology & strategy.
Experience with sports video analysis & coaching software.
Excellent communication interpersonal & organizational skills necessary.
Ability to accomplish multiple tasks within demanding timeframes.
Attention to detail & the ability to work under pressure.
Ability to use discretion & maintain all condentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in a similar role within a college basketball program.
Experience with Teamworks &/or other similar software.
Working knowledge of NCAA rules & regulations related to video operations.
Certication in video analysis software & equipment.
