Job Duties
Assigned operational responsibilities in a high volume fastpaced office with frequent deadlines. This position ensures the courts instructions are executed and legal documents are prepared with accuracy and in accordance with state and local policies.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to preparing detailed court documents in accordance with established guidelines entering data into an automated Case Management System imaging case files scheduling matters for court preparing correspondence and legal documents assessing fines and costs providing customer service at the front counter answering telephones filing court documents daily docket preparation and attending court sessions. The selected individual must possess the ability to professionally interact with diverse customers from attorneys law enforcement various agencies and the public. Must provide excellent accurate and informational customer service in writing in person and by telephone.
Performs clerical work within the courtroom including assisting the judge with the docket operating the recording system preparing paperwork for signatures and entering the judges findings in the case management system. Prepares the courtroom for the days scheduled trials. Takes notes and generates necessary paperwork in accordance with the rulings of the courts; updates all court files and inputs data as needed. Ensures that proceedings of court activity are recorded in a clear concise and legible manner. Calculates all court costs and fees. Enters case dispositions judgments postponements fines and costs ordered by the judge into the courts case management system. Records and enters key points for records of each case. Generates and reviews paperwork. Prepares all necessary paperwork such as unlawful detainers warrants subpoenas and judgment sheets. As well as probation restitution fingerprint community service deferred payment commitments and release forms. Assembles and forwards paperwork completed during court to the appropriate agency.
Excellent attendance is an essential responsibility of the position. Candidate must be able to multitask and enjoy working in a fastpaced highvolume office with
firm deadlines. The selected candidate may be assigned additional responsibilities by a member of the management team.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent is required college preferred. Prior knowledge of a court judicial system or office experience is preferred. Favored applicants will be able to work independently as well as part of a team and manage changing priorities. Time management skills and fast accurate data entry/computer skills are required.
