The Opportunity

The Storeperson is responsible for providing general warehouse and logistics services in line with Supply Chain Process and is accountable for delivering their work on time in full and to standard The Storeperson is responsible for keeping themselves and their workmates safe whilst maintaining a clean tidy and productive work environment.

The Storeperson is a general labour position with a high level of physical movement and manual handling of tools materials and equipment (goods).

Whats involved

• Deliver highlevel customer service to the Production Department by ensuring timely availability of tools materials and equipment for project use.
• Support warehouse and logistics operations across Austal facilities in accordance with Supply Chain processes.
• Safely operate powered industrial vehicles (e.g. forklifts pallet jacks) while maintaining a valid operator licence.
• Perform stowing picking packaging and handling of goods in line with procedures for safe storage and transit.
• Provide safe and efficient forklift services for onsite material movement in line with established protocols.
• Assist with stocktaking activities.
• Maintain housekeeping standards across all work areas.
• Ensure consistent highlevel support is provided to the production team.

Youll need

Essential

• Valid forklift licence.
• Valid manual drivers licence.
• Minimum of 2 years experience in Warehousing and Logistics ideally within a Marine Support Engineering Manufacturing or Defence environment.
• Proficient in working within a computerised ERP system.
• Possession of a Construction White Card.

Desirable

• Experience handling Dangerous Goods (DG).
• Certificate III in Warehousing Logistics or Supply Chain.
• Participation in High Performing Team training.
• Experience using Pronto or IFS systems.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
