Job Description

NOTE: This is a new position within the company that will offer considerable growth opportunities for the right candidate.

Position Overview:
Our client ARCXIS is seeking an experienced Compaction Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for performing field and laboratory testing of soil and aggregate materials to verify compliance with project specifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction materials testing excellent attention to detail and a solid understanding of compaction testing procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform field density and compaction tests using nuclear densimeters sand cone devices and other approved methods.

Collect and prepare representative samples of soil and aggregates for laboratory testing.

Conduct a variety of tests to determine material properties such as moisture content density and gradation.

Accurately record and maintain test results daily logs and observations.

Communicate findings and test results to project managers engineers and clients in a clear and timely manner.

Maintain calibrate and ensure certification of all testing equipment.

Follow all company and industry safety protocols and procedures on job sites.

Support quality control efforts by ensuring materials meet project and regulatory standards.

Keep work areas and equipment clean and organized.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in soil testing construction materials testing or a closely related field.

Proficiency in using compaction testing equipment (nuclear gauge sand cone etc..

Working knowledge of ASTM and AASHTO testing standards.

Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

Ability to accurately complete detailed reports and maintain organized records.

Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Commitment to safety and adherence to all applicable guidelines.

Valid drivers license and clean driving record.
