Job Description
Coop Student Medical Assistants are responsible for providing physician support and ensuring the facility is running smoothly. This support is offered through many varied administrative tasks such as patient scheduling assisting with referrals and authorizations answering phones filing documenting scanning and faxing. Coop Student Medical Assistants also help perform a variety of clinical duties such as preparing exam rooms collecting patient vitals and specimens assisting in minor surgical procedure injections and other routine tasks as assigned.
Education and Training
- Junior or Senior Year student in a related Six District Educational Compact program.
Experience
- In good standing in current Six District Educational Compact program.
Other Skills Competencies and Qualifications
- Ability to collect samples (e.g. blood throat cultures etc. and to perform limited tests of such.
- Ability to operate microscope cameras videotape etc.
