LUZCO Technologies is seeking an experienced Physical Substation Engineer to join our team on either a parttime or fulltime basis. This role will focus on performing Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) reviews of physical substation design packages. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in substation physical layout constructability and utility standards and is committed to upholding engineering excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Review general arrangements sections conduit plans grounding and equipment layouts for accuracy and constructability.
• Ensure compliance with utility standards NESC/NEC codes and Luzcos internal QA/QC expectations.
• Provide detailed redlines technical feedback and mentorship to design teams.
• Assist in enhancing and maintaining QA/QC checklists and internal review procedures.
• Collaborate with project leads and engineers to resolve design issues and ensure quality deliverables.

• 10 years of experience in substation physical design (greenfield and brownfield).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet review deadlines with minimal oversight.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of utility substation layout design standards and industry best practices.
• Strong proficiency reviewing CADbased deliverables (AutoCAD or MicroStation).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience performing QA/QC in a consulting engineering environment.
• Familiarity with Ameren or other Midwest utility standards.
• Willingness to attend occasional meetings during normal business hours.
