SalaryRange: $40000 $44488 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

Summary
The Transition and Outreach Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring militaryaffiliated students experience a seamless and supportive transition to UCCS while fostering a proactive and studentcentered approach. This position is dedicated to enhancing access readiness and student success through proactive engagement tailored support services and strategic outreach initiatives. This role includes overseeing and executing militaryaffiliated orientation events providing exceptional student support collaborating effectively with campus partners to remove barriers to student success and implementing strategic outreach initiatives to enhance retention and student success. Key areas of focus include personalized responsive support in transition access readiness and empowerment for veterans activeduty military personnel and their families.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
- In coordination with the Admissions Orientation Team oversees the planning and of militaryaffiliated orientation sessions campus tours and military visit days.
- Develop and implement personalized transition plans for militaryaffiliated students ensuring they receive guidance on academic preparedness financial aid and campus engagement opportunities.
- Serves as a dedicated transition coach offering individualized support to militaryaffiliated students as they navigate academic expectations career readiness and campus integration.
- Organizes campus events that emphasize UCCS commitment to militaryaffiliated students including Veterans Week networking and career fairs and special celebrations.
- Develops and delivers readinessfocused programming such as possible workshops on time management career exploration and financial literacy tailored to militaryaffiliated students.
- Represents VMA at campus open houses resource fairs and special events.
- Works collaboratively with campus partners to promote and implement initiatives focused on student retention and success.
- Serves as staff advisor for Student Veteran Organization and SALUTE National Honor Society.
- Assists the Director in the development and delivery of strategic communications.
- Provides data to the VMA Director upon request including orientation data event details and any other relevant information related to the goals of this position.
- Oversees the creation and distribution of the monthly newsletter.
- Utilizes CRM to track and document interactions with students.
- Acts as a School Certifying Official supporting and assisting in the enrollment certification for students using VA Education Benefits as needed.
- Provides exceptional customer service to students staff faculty and others who interact with Veteran and Military Affairs.
- Performs other duties related to the goals of the department as assigned.
Tentative Search Timeline
- Priority will be given to applications submitted by: May 18 2025.
- Potential interview dates: 1st Round May; Finalists June 26 2025
- Potential start date: No later than July 1 2025.
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution of higher education; or four 4 or more years of military service is required.
- Candidates must have prior experience in any of the following and/or related areas: orientation advising counseling outreach military transition assistance.
- Prior military service is preferred.
- Experience working in student affairs in higher education is a plus.
- Excellent candidates will have previous experience advising/counseling service members and/or veterans.
- Knowledge of VA educational benefits and military tuition assistance is highly desired.
- Strong candidates will have experience as a School Certifying Official.
- Experience using Salesforce Slate or similar CRM is a plus.
