Job Description
The Postdoc for this role will research safety and efficiency aspects of generative AI for industries. From the safety perspective the postdoc will research and present (internally and externally) a novel contribution to hallucination reduction model/data/prompt safety or privacypreserving training or finetuning methods with direct applications in one of our core industry segments. From the efficiency perspective the postdoc will research and present a novel contribution to training finetuning or operationalization methods that reduce cost memory or carbon footprint of foundation models with a demonstration of its application in one of our core industry segments.
Key job responsibilities
This is a unique opportunity for a Postdoc to spearhead the effort to address safety and efficiency challenges behind adopting generative AI for Amazons funded and ongoing industry product initiatives. This research will feed directly into Amazons generative AI product strategies and features with industry customers and AIP segments.
About the team
The AWS Industry Products (AIP) team directly collaborates with strategic customers to build new industryspecific products that directly impact and transform industries at AWS scale. We are a team of innovators that tackle difficult problems and build products through fast iteration in a startup like environment. AIP SCIFI team was formed to empower our customers to make better datadriven decisions by leveraging data science techniques such as ML and optimization.
Basic qualifications include:
PhD in a relevant field received within 2 years of starting the program
Proven publication record in Operation Research Management Science Statistics Machine Learning Computer Science Econ or other related technical fields
Experience in data science and quantitative research
Proficiency in technologies relevant to the subfield
Postdocs demonstrate the following preferred job qualifications:
Ability to independently deliver results in a fastpaced environment
Publications at toptier peerreviewed conferences and/or journals
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Expert knowledge in modeling and performance operationalization and scalability of scientific techniques and establishing decision strategies
Required application materials:
CV which lists all peerreviewed publications and conferences
Research statement that outlines your research achievements and future research interests and
A journal article or book chapter that demonstrates your domain expertise.
