The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will be responsible for defining and executing the organizations technology strategy ensuring alignment with business objectives. This role involves leading digital transformation initiatives developing advanced data and analytics solutions and fostering a datadriven decisionmaking culture. The CTO will oversee the development and implementation of cuttingedge technology solutions ensuring the company remains at the forefront of innovation in the financial services sector.
This is a senior leadership position requiring a strategic thinker who can bridge the gap between technology and business. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Executive Committee (Exco) driving the organizations longterm technological vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development & Leadership
- Develop and execute the Group Technology Strategy ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Collaborate with global counterparts to drive synergy in technology initiatives across multiple regions.
- Identify and drive the adoption of emerging technologies to maintain the companys competitive edge.
- Lead digital transformation efforts ensuring seamless integration of technology into business operations.
- Provide technical evaluations for potential acquisitions and partnerships.
- Represent the organization in board meetings and provide strategic guidance on technologyrelated matters.
Technology Development & Implementation
- Define and implement a technology delivery process that enables efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the design development and deployment of innovative technology solutions.
- Drive the infrastructure roadmap including cloud adoption strategies.
Data & Analytics Leadership
- Oversee the implementation of a comprehensive Data Strategy.
- Drive the development of data infrastructure to support strategic business objectives.
- Champion the use of AI machine learning and advanced analytics to enhance decisionmaking and operational efficiencies.
Security & Compliance
- Ensure IT and security policies comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Identify policy gaps and implement measures to address security vulnerabilities.
- Oversee regular audits and compliance reporting.
Performance Monitoring & Budget Management
- Establish key performance metrics to assess technology impact and efficiency.
- Prepare regular reports for Exco on technology performance and progress.
- Manage the technology divisions budget ensuring optimal allocation of resources.
People & Culture
- Build and lead a highperforming technology team.
- Mentor and develop direct reports fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Promote an inclusive performancedriven environment that aligns with company values.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
MustHaves:
- Postgraduate degree in Computer Science or related field (NQF Level 8.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in technology leadership roles.
- Strong technical expertise across IT infrastructure engineering security and operations.
- Proven experience leading digital transformation initiatives in a complex business environment.
- Understanding of modern data analytics AI and machine learning.
- Strong financial acumen in IT budgeting and resource allocation.
- Exceptional leadership communication and stakeholder management skills.
