ABOUT THE ROLE

This role is a Permanent fulltime position based on Barrow Island. Reporting to the Superintendent you will be responsible for setting up and excavating trenches in and around existing infrastructure. Other key responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Experience setting up and excavating trenches using laser levels / offset pegs / etc. to the lines and levels shown on the drawings.
• Bedding laying welding flushing hydrostatic testing pneumatic testing and backfilling pipes 60mm to 400mm diameter)
• Experience performing and supervising HDPE welding (by electrofusion and butt fusion methods); preparing the foundation blinding and lifting and placing precast concrete manholes.
• Experience with flange and valve installation including bolting and torque ups.
• Interpreting IFC documents drawings isometrics MTOs workpacks existing service drawings redline drawings.
• Building and growing a safe construction culture; including implementing SWMS JHAs Personal Risk Assessments Group Risk Assessments and Hazard Observations.
• Field leadership engagement (task and workplace inspections)
• Preparing for and leading prestart meetings and toolbox talks.
• Direct supervision of approximately 15 craft / operators.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Relevant Tertiary Tickets and Qualifications
• Ability to read drawings specs and piping isometrics
• 5 exposure to civil construction projects in Australia.
• A proactive cando attitude and the ability to hit the ground running
• Ability to manage crews and deliver works to program and budget

ABOUT BARROW ISLAND Barrow Island is located around 60 kilometres from the mainland and approximately 139 kilometres west of the Port of Dampier. Its also home to Chevrons Gorgon Project and WA Oil operations. It is the largest oil field discovered in Western Australia. Ertech has been a major service provider to Chevron Australias Gorgon Project for over 10 years.

Barrow Island provides excellent onsite accommodation including meal services as well as gym facilities (mixed and separate gyms available for men & women with a variety of fitness classes to choose from) sporting facilities including a football field golf simulator bike hire 2 swimming pools basketball court tennis court and a cricket pitch!
