Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor the incinerator On Board Cruise Ship according to company and industry standards
Ensure proper incineration of waste materials including garbage food waste and hazardous waste
Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of the incinerator including changing filters and disposing of ash
Monitor and record incinerator performance including temperature emissions and fuel consumption
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Communicate effectively with other crew members and superiors to coordinate waste management operations
Keep accurate records of waste incineration and disposal in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
Identify and report any issues or malfunctions with the incinerator to the appropriate personnel
Participate in training and development programs to enhance knowledge and skills related to incinerator operation
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 12 years of experience operating and maintaining an incinerator preferably in a marine or industrial setting
Knowledge of incinerator operation and maintenance procedures
Familiarity with waste management regulations and best practices
Ability to work in a fastpaced dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
Must be able to pass a preemployment drug test and background check
Valid Incinerator Operator Certification preferred
