Launched in 2006 Amazon Web Services officially began offering developer customers access to web services now widely known as cloud computing based on Amazons own backend technology platform.
AWS Services Finance seeks a Sr. Financial Analyst to join the EC2 Capacity and CapEx team responsible for CapEx planning/analysis of the largest service in AWS EC2. This position will work closely with finance and business leadership as well as key business partners across the AWS organization including Product Managers Capacity Management Supply Chain Forecasting and Economists to drive thoughtful analysis in the EC2 business. He or she will have the opportunity to lead and influence multiple highvisibility aspects of managing EC2 capacity including longterm planning operational controllership capital efficiency analysis and ongoing capital reporting and analysis. Additional responsibilities include adhoc business analysis support. This role requires a selfstarter with strong financial modeling abilities robust problem solving skills a keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment. Strong ownership curiosity passion for diving deep and a desire to learn are ideal fits for this role.
Key job responsibilities
Manage and develop the financial analysis processes to support financial planning and close
Partner with and proactively communicate across the AWS finance community to coordinate a complex and interconnected series of deliverables.
Support adhoc requests and assist in various requests from finance and business executives.
Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations.
Partner with finance teams across AWS to standardize streamline and prioritize improvements remove roadblocks and increase the reliability and efficiency of reporting.
Write and present narratives and analysis of AWS Infrastructure capital for senior leadership.
Lead large scale initiatives and financial controllership
3 years of tax finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelors degree in finance accounting business economics or a related analytical field (e.g. engineering math computer science)
MBA or CPA
4 years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
4 years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
Experience working with largescale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL MS Access Essbase Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle SAP Lawson JD Edwards)
3 years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
