Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Flight Operations Optimization (MFOO)is responsible for route planning and efficiency (current and new routes) managing and obtaining international flight permits (overflight and landing) and measuring performance and data analytics for all Flight Operations. The individual will be willing to help develop this role and create standard operating procedures for these functions and for individuals in the OCC and Flight Operations to ensure reliability and performance are adhered to in accordance with Company standards Federal Regulations and International Operating requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:(includes but not limited to)

Primary Duties:

  • The authority is delegated by the SDFO to of obtain maintain and distribute overflight and landing permits slots PPRs curfews APACS and the necessary diplomatic clearances prior to departure for flights into or over foreign countries listed on Operations the Specifications. Ensure no curfews PPRs or other airport restrictions are in effect for proposed operations and coordinate any changes that may affect operations to leadership and personnel.
  • Slot allocation using the IATA World Slot Guidelines (WSG) for all current and future slots worldwide.
  • Complete and file Landing Reports as required by each station.
  • Develop processes documentation and records for flight schedules.
  • Facilitates and analyzes schedule adjustments in conjunction with NOC and Network Planning department.
  • Analyze all airports and conduct suitability assessments on all current and new airports stations and facilities.
  • Conduct routine analysis on these airports and review any outages NOTAMS closures or advisories that may impact operational feasibility. If any impact work with team members to adjust schedules as necessary.
  • Analyze fuel cost for optimization and update Navblue NFP with current rates.
  • Enter fuel cost data and maintain cost index database within NavBlue.
  • Maintain and monitor SkyBreathe for fuel and cost data analysis and reporting.
  • Engage in Amerijets Fuel Conservation programs and initiatives.
  • Manage fuel bias program and provide data and recommendation for fuel savings.
  • ETOPS Maintain the Airport Suitability Checks for all ETOPS Airports and assist with any additional areas or airports as required.
  • Lead and manage updates for the OPT including pushing to flight crew.
  • Help preplan flight releases for the next 36hour period.
  • Maintain aircraft navigational database (NavDB) and accounts with Honeywell or other service providers and update based on new routes or airports.
  • Maintain and update Company NOTAMS within the NavBlue NFP database.
  • Direct the handling and coordination of charter flights in line with permits landings and ground handling administrative processing prior to release of flights.
  • Establish policies and monitor major events such as airport closures facility disruptions civil unrest adverse weather (hurricanes earthquakes etc. to ensure operational plans are recommended and assist with any planning and changes to the network during these events.
  • Any Additional task assigned by the Sr. Director of Operations or COO.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS SKILLS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience

  • 1year experience in airline operations or related field
  • Preferred FAA Licensed Aircraft Dispatcher
  • Experience with airline operations software (AIMS WSI NavBlue) preferred
  • Ability to read monitor and interpret weather and ATC routing
  • Previous experience with Runway Performance and Aircraft Performance
  • Knowledge of Slots Landing and Overflight permitting processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products (Excel Word Power Point etc.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers phones photocopiers filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbents may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role and requires being able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time. Occasionally the person in this position is required to move/traverse inside the office to access file cabinets office equipment etc. The person in this position regularly communicates with others in person by phone or through correspondence.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The employee must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills be able to effectively present information respond to questions from managers employees vendors and the general public and proficiently write reports and business correspondence.
