Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Copy Editor to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality clarity and consistency of our written content across various internal platforms.
This position requires a passion for language an eye for detail and a strong focus on the needs and experience of our end customer: Amazon Operations employees across North America. The successful candidate will play a key role in elevating the quality and impact of our written communications.
Key job responsibilities
Edit written content for grammar clarity concision and conversational style
Ensure adherence to Amazons internal style guide and AP Stylebook
Craft compelling headlines and email subject lines to maximize impact and engagement
Collaborate with writers and other team members to refine content
Maintain consistency in tone and voice across different content types
Provide constructive feedback to writers to improve overall content quality
Stay updated on language trends and evolving style guidelines
About the team
Operations Internal Communications is a team of 100 communicators across the Americas Europe Asia Pacific and the Middle East sharing news updates needtoknow information and pridebuilding storytelling with more than 1 million Amazon Operations employees across the world. This position is focused on North America.
Bachelors degree in English Journalism Communications or related field
5 years of copy editing experience preferably in a corporate or agency setting
Strong command of English grammar spelling and punctuation
Familiarity with AP Stylebook and ability to quickly learn and apply Amazons internal style guide
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and digital project management tools
Experience editing for digital platforms and social media
Knowledge of HTML PPT Photoshop and other digital formats
Experience with factchecking and source verification
Background in or understanding of technology business or ecommerce industries
Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot errors
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $155200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
