JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:

• Participates in installing configuring upgrading and troubleshooting various BI applications that support data visualization and analysis. Applies technical knowledge on the utilization of these tools and best practices that should be employed.
• Working as a key Center of Excellence (CoE) team member delivers results creating value for the CNA brand customers and key internal stakeholders. Works with external (and offshore) resources as required.
• May lead or sublead the design implementation and automation of data platform capabilities for the optimal needs of various systems and business requirements.
• Actively adheres to established quality and reliability standards and ensures team adheres to the same quality and standards working in an Agile development environment.
• May lead or sublead the design or maintenance of automation scripts and tools for the purpose of BI platform administration deployment and performance tuning.
• Work with BI developers data analysts and business stakeholders to understand and support their BI needs and requirements
• Researches identifies and implements process improvements that address complex technology gaps.
• May lead or sublead the research and evaluation of new BI technologies and best practices that enable reporting analytics data science and data management.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Drives the evolution of CNA BI application development processes and standards.
• Applies machine learning to work as applicable.

  Skills Knowledge & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of relational database concepts ETL/ELT star schema data modeling etc..
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrated curiosity to explore new BI technologies and solutions that can enhance business value and user experience.
• Expertise in Python scripting with a focus on process automation.
• Proficient in SQL in a business environment with largescale complex datasets.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with peers and team members in a highly matrixed environment.
• Preferred experience in supporting and building solutions in Looker ThoughtSpot Tableau Power BI and Qlikview a plus.
• Preferred experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery a plus.
• Preferred experience with the insurance industry its products and services.
• Familiar with CI/CD Tools and methodologies

• Education & Experience

• Bachelors degree with Masters preferred in Computer Science Information Technology related discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Typically 5 years of experience in data analytics or application development.
• 3 years of coding proficiency in at least one programming language (Python Java SQL).
• Experience using Agile methods preferred.
• Applicable certifications preferred (GCP Data Engineering).

In District of Columbia California Colorado Connecticut Illinois Maryland Massachusetts New York and Washington the national base pay range for this job level is $72000 to $141000 determinations are based on various factors including but not limited to relevant work experience skills certifications and location.
