Summary
At Jamies School of Fish we expect our Pool Coordinators to be highly organized attentive and responsible. You must possess strong leadership skills excellent communication skills and great attention to detail. As the Pool Coordinator you are responsible for overseeing the daytoday operations of the pool area ensuring safety and maintaining a clean and organized environment. You will supervise swim lessons monitor swimmers assist with class transitions when needed and enforce pool safety rules. The Pool Coordinators work closely with the swim instructor to ensure that the lessons run smoothly and that all the students are supervised in a safe positive and engaging environment. Additionally you will manage equipment and serve as the primary point of contact for swim instructors participants and parents. Lastly the Pool Coordinator will play a key role in responding to any emergencies or issues that may arise during the teaching sessions. This position is crucial in providing a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for all students and ensuring the efficient operation of the pool area.

Required Qualifications
  • Strong background in customer service and managing or supervising groups.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and manage pool operations efficiently.
  • The ability to supervise and maintain a safe environment for children and adults in the pool area.
  • Ability to remain active in a pool environment for extended periods including standing walking and responding to emergencies when needed.
  • Strong attention to detail particularly in maintaining safety protocols and cleanliness.
  • The ability to handle and resolve conflicts or emergencies calmly and efficiently.
  • Easily maintains a positive and welcoming attitude when interacting with swimmers instructors and parents.
  • Availability to work evenings weekends and holidays as needed depending on class schedules and pool operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • High school senior or older.
  • Relevant experience working with neurodivergent students.
  • Current CPR Certification or the ability to obtain it upon hire.
  • Current First Aid Certification or the ability to obtain it upon hire.
  • Current Lifeguard Certification or the ability to obtain it upon hire.
  • Availability for most of the following teaching sessions:
    • Monday 9 AM 1 PM & 3 PM7 PM
    • Tuesday 9 AM1 PM & 3 PM7 PM
    • Wednesday 9 AM1 PM & 3 PM7 PM
    • Thursday 9 AM 1PM & 3 PM 7 PM
    • Friday: 9 AM1 PM & 3 PM7 PM
    • Saturday: 9 AM1 PM
    • Sunday: 10 AM2 PM
Specific Job Duties
1. Oversee Pool Safety:
  • Monitor swimmers at all times to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Enforce pool safety rules and regulations ensuring all participants follow the guidelines.
  • Respond quickly to any emergencies accidents or injuries.
  • Maintain a calm demeanor during emergencies ensuring the safety and wellbeing of swimmers and staff.
2. Manage Pool Operations:
  • Completing the opening and closing of the pool tasks.
  • Ensuring the pool is clean organized and hazardfree.
  • Report any maintenance issues or repairs needed.
  • Oversee the general operations of the pool including monitoring the water temperature cleanliness and equipment availability.
3. Customer service:
  • Ensuring a positive and welcoming atmosphere for students and families.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for parents and students.
  • Addressing any questions concerns or issues raised by clients in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintaining clear communication with parents about lesson schedule changes instructor training and facility closures.
4. Assist with Teaching Schedules and Transitions:
  • Help coordinate lesson schedules and assist in smooth transitions between different groups or classes.
  • Notify instructors students and families about schedule changes or lesson adjustments.
5. Act as Primary Contact for Instructors and Parents:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for swim instructors students and parents addressing questions or concerns regarding lessons or pool policies.
  • Communicate any important updates or changes regarding the pool schedule or class structure.
6. Track attendance:
  • Keep accurate records of swimmers attendance and inform management of any inconsistencies or absences.
  • Report to management about any issues related to attendance or lesson participation.
7. Assist your manager in meeting the goals and vision of the department:
  • Attend department and companywide meetings.
  • Read department and interdepartment written communications.
  • Be attentive and responsive to department and companywide announcements calendar items and upcoming events.
  • Be on time. At Jamies School of Fish punctuality means arriving early. Pool Coordinators are encouraged to be onsite as soon as their shift starts to ensure the opening process goes smoothly.
  • Only call in sick if you are genuinely unable or injured to the point where you cannot work. If you do need to call in sick we encourage you to use your sick pay. Additionally depending on the circumstances you may be asked to provide a doctors note which will be kept on file.
  • Be flexible with your schedule and be willing to substitute for others when called upon.
8. Exemplify integrity and character:
  • Conduct yourself so supervisors coworkers students and parents can always rely on your word.
  • Be honest truthful and accountable in your work and relationships.
  • Work hard.
  • Be thoughtful towards others in your actions direct and indirect communications and outlook.
Compensation: $16.50 $18.00 per hour
