Job Description

Reports To: Director Academic Advising
Travel: 2 days per month

LOCATION: Marinette Campus
STANDARD HOURS: 40 hours per week. Typical hours Monday Friday 8:00 am 5:00 pm; Flexibility required to include other evening and/or weekend hours as necessary.
SALARY RANGE: $58916 $63499 per year
*Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education experiences current wages and internal equity.

POSITION SUMMARY
Advises students regarding information procedures and academic requirements of specific programs. Assist students in exploring careers evaluating academic abilities and setting goals. Assist with registration and graduation requirements. Advise student regarding course content course selection prerequisites curriculum changes recommended credit load curriculum planning and financial aid processes and policies to insure successful and timely graduation. Presents academic and career information to students and parents. Make recommendations to divisional leadership and students regarding appropriate courses of action to students complex personal and academic challenges. Provide students support in career decision making experimental learning opportunities professional job search strategies and techniques and career/life planning. Collaborate with staff and faculty to provide comprehensive academic and career advising services.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assess students stage of development (academic career and personal) and promotes student growth by determining suitable development tasks; assists student in establishing realistic and attainable academic and career goals.
Provide students career counseling and assistance in career decisionmaking experiential learning opportunities professional job search strategies career/life planning skills assessment and portfolio development.
Work collaboratively with the staff and faculty on providing direct student and careerrelated support to program students.
Interpret and explain college policies and procedures; participate in preparation of campus events and presents academic/career information to students at campus events and in classrooms (presentations orientation enrollment and degree process).
Develop and implements retention strategies to increase student success consistent with college programs and strategic directions of the college.
Advise students on credits for prior learning general financial aid information and assists with preparing appropriate documentation and financial aid appeals.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with employers to support the development of internships career opportunities and assess future hiring needs.
Provide students with individual and group assistance in exploring career resources building resumes cover letters interview skill building and professional networking and to utilize online systems for job search.
Maintain and enter student data tracking students interactions and academic/career plans; analyze and prepare reports for retention tracking and accountability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree
A minimum of two years related experience
Microsoft Office Suite and Internet Web Browsers. Previous Workday experience is preferred.
Global Career Development Facilitator Certification.
Must hold a valid drivers license and be insurable under the Districts standard insurance policy terms.

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in advising and career assessment is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Extended Sitting: Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or attending meetings
Mobility: Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events
Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment tools or controls.
Visual and Auditory: Ability to read documents and communicate effectively with students and staff.
Light Lifting: Capability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
