About the Position:
Job Title: Analytical Technician
Location: Onsite West Sacramento
Eligible for Hybrid Work: No
Job Type: Temporary (est. end date 12/31/25 but decent chance it is extended to sometime in the first half of 2026 most likely will not be extended past 6/30/26

Reporting to: Dominique Tartar
Expected Travel: None
Research and development is the heart and soul of Origin Materials and the role of analytical technician is central to Origin R&D. Experiments are useless if you cant see the results and our analytics team is crucial in providing that capability to our R&D function. The analytical tech brings creativity inquisitiveness and clarity to the complex problem of investigating novel chemistries combined with the ability to communicate methods and results with fellow scientists engineers and Origins nontechnical staff. This is an exciting role within a sciencedriven company and an opportunity to develop expertise in analytical techniques both novel and triedandtrue.
Responsibilities:
Analyzing samples using GCFID GCMS HPLC (with UV RID) and other analytical techniques (titration TOC EA DSC UVVis etc.
Preparing solutions; standard volumetric solutions and reagents used in laboratories
Checking data for correctness and completeness adhering to the QA/QC policy
Helping maintain and troubleshoot analytical instruments
Performing other duties as required
Qualifications:
At least one year of work experience in a science laboratory
Bachelor of science in chemistry or related field
Coursework in general chemistry organic chemistry and quantitative analysis or comparable coursework and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
You have method development experience
You have troubleshooting and problem solving skills
You have experience setting up organizational systems
You have an example of an experimental write up
You can wield spreadsheets like a pro
Salary Range: This position is a Level 2 at Origin Materials. The pay range for this position level at Origin Materials is $52800 $122000. This range is not necessarily a guarantee of actual compensation that may be earned nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee which is always dependent on relevant experience education and other factors.
