JOB TITLE:
Assistant Lecturer/Instructional Professor
JOB PURPOSE:
The College of Engineering and Physical Sciences (CEPS) of the University of Wyoming includes 10 departments and the newly formed School of Computing. The College prides itself on research innovation teaching excellence industrial engagement and broader societal impact. With a significantly increased budget we have embarked on a transformational journey to become a Tier1 Institution recognized nationally for academic excellence and worldclass research. This includes new stateoftheart facilities and dedicated funding for research initiatives. We are hiring a cohort of new faculty across the College and we seek to attract a diverse and inclusive group of talented earlystage faculty and established researchers.
The Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at the University of Wyoming (UW) seeks outstanding applicants for an Assistant Lecturer/Instructional Professor effective August 2025. The position is a 9month fulltime benefited nontenure track appointment.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The successful candidate will join a department of 10 faculty that provides B.S. M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Chemical Engineering as well as undergraduate minors in Process Control and Instrumentation and Biomedical seek faculty members who will create a climate that embraces excellence and diversity with a commitment to education that will enhance the work of the department and attract and retain a diverse student body.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will develop and teach required and elective undergraduate courses in the department. The longterm expected teaching load will be three courses a semester but initially the teaching load will be two courses a semester. The successful candidate will also assist with undergraduate recruitment efforts and mentor undergraduate students on academic and career opportunities. Additional opportunities for assisting with accreditation curriculum development and pedagogical initiatives will also be available.
