Role Title: Senior Group Accountant
Client Summary: Our client a leading player in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry is seeking a talented Senior Group Accountant to join their dynamic team in Cape Town. This JSElisted company offers an exciting opportunity for a driven professional to make a significant impact on their financial reporting and analysis processes.
Job Description: As the Senior Group Accountant you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial landscape of a diverse and innovative FMCG group. This position offers a unique blend of challenges and opportunities allowing you to leverage your expertise in consolidated financial reporting while contributing to the growth of multiple subsidiaries. Youll be at the forefront of financial decisionmaking working with cuttingedge systems and collaborating with a talented finance team.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the production of consolidated financial information for external JSE reporting
- Spearhead the preparation of separate and annual financial statements for subsidiary companies
- Lead the development of monthly consolidated group management accounts
- Orchestrate the annual budget and quarterly forecast consolidated group management accounts
- Innovate and optimize group automated consolidation processes
- Manage group income and deferred tax reporting
- Contribute to corporate transactions and strategic financial initiatives
- Enhance statutory and internal reporting processes
- Pioneer improvements in automated internal reporting systems
- Conduct indepth analysis of financial data to drive business insights
- Provide valuable support to the finance team on various projects
Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant qualification (SA)
- 13 years postarticle experience demonstrating rapid career progression
- FMCG industry experience is highly advantageous
- Proficiency in Syspro and Qlikview is a plus
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes particularly in the food/beverage sector
- Exceptional analytical and reporting abilities
- Advanced presentation and computer skills (MS Office/ERP Systems)
- Proven track record of meeting deadlines and delivering results
- Selfmotivated with a proactive approach to problemsolving
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to handle pressure
- Valid drivers license and own transport
