Job Description
Teknion Custom Solutions is looking for a Beam Saw Operator. We are a custom wood office furniture manufacturer producing a large variety of office furniture. The Beam Saw Operator executes rough cuts on sheet goods enabling their progression through manufacturing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret shop drawings and job instruction documents
- Perform measurements with accuracy
- Requires knowledge and the ability to identify different building materials such as MDF particle board plastic laminate and others.
- Must examine materials for flaws and imperfections before processing to optimize material efficiency
- Understands machine operations: setup troubleshooting maintenance lockout
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Employ safe and appropriate material handling and lifting techniques for wood furniture to prevent damage and injuries
- Must understand and consistently apply standard safety rules and procedures.
Preferred Skills:
- Energetic and enthusiastic attitude thriving in a collaborative team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Approaches work with a high degree of organization safety and attention to detail
- Must be able to organize workload and prioritize activities based on key responsibilities
- Demonstrates strong English communication skills both written and oral.
Assets:
- 12 years experience in a wood or manufacturing shop
- Previous experience as a machine operator.
