Fallbrook Union Elementary School District is a K8 district. We share the yard with the high school bus service. We transport 2500 students home to school and midday. The fleet consists of over 37 buses and 12 vans. We encompass the town of Fallbrook and two schools on the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base.
Lead Mechanic will:
- Performs and maintains vehicle related software updates and computer hardware installation on district owned vehicles.
- Coordinates scheduling of bus maintenance and repair.
- Plans schedules and supervises periodic and unscheduled vehicle maintenance.
- Manages the contract maintenance of vehicles and components.
- To do related work as required.

- REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLYING:Equivalent to the completionof the twelfth grade.A combination of training and experience which provides the required level of knowledge and skill. A typical qualifying background would include five years journeylevel experience as an automotive mechanic a minimum of two years of which must have been as a California school bus mechanic or maintenance inspector and must have included some responsibility for shop supervision; or any combination of training and experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities.
- REQUIRED LICENSE/CERTIFICATE:Possession of a valid California Drivers License Class B; and a valid California School Bus Drivers Certificate and the ability to qualify for district vehicle insurance coverage.
